If you can AVOID this shop, please do so. I was driving our van to pick up my mother when it broke down near the Atlantic bridge. This is one of the closest where we were so we decided to have the tow truck drop our van at. BIGGEST MISTAKE! We told them that the problem is the alternator since we just changed the battery that day. No need to check anything else. 3 hours before they closed and they didn't get a chance to start looking at it so we waited the next morning to ask for any update. 45mins after they opened the next day, we've been told that to change a 2012 van alternator will cost us $890 plus tax. really? My husband told him not to do anything yet and will call back. We called other car shops to get a second opinion (those were closed when our car broke down) and guess what? The first one quoted us $200 + tax then the second one was $200 + tax +$50 labor. My husband told the rude, sarcastic person in this ALL PRO AUTOMOTIVE (didn't give out his name, not wearing a tag as well) that we'll be transferring our van to another car shop, he got so upset and started being sarcastic. He told us we need to pay $50 + tax, for what we asked? He said since he runs diagnosis. Woah. We clearly said no need to run a diagnosis as it definitely is an alternator we just need a quote. He said well, we just want to know if other parts need to be taken care of. Even if there are, which we know yes, we didn't authorize it. My husband was so nice to just pay him to avoid an argument but definitely learned his lesson not to go back there. We're actually about to let it go until I check our bank statement & get $74.18 posted! This is unbelievable! Didn't do anything to our van at all! Can't believe this car shop takes advantage of people's situation and thought people are stupid enough to just agree to everything they're saying. Do your research before you agree if the price is right! :) It helps that we get a free tow truck service from our car insurance as well.
